The 2025-2026 school year is almost here!

We hope your summer was great, and we look forward to seeing you soon. Please take a moment to read through and note the important back to school dates on your calendar.

All RBCS Staff should read and be familiar with BOTH handbooks above.

The following forms should be completed by ALL STAFF on or before August 20:

Below we have provided some tips on writing a good bio.

staff trainings

This is the year that everyone renews their CPR & First Aid training. We will complete this training together on Wednesday, August 20.

Staff who need training hours have been sent an individual message on brightwheel with instructions.

New PTO Policy

To limit excessive absences, RBCS has changed the time off request procedures. Staff should now request time off using the time off request form at least 2 weeks in advance. Time off can be submitted for any personal leave. PTO will be granted in half-hour increments only and can be used for full days or partial days.

If the staff member has PTO available, the Director will make every effort to approve the request. However, for the school to successfully operate, requests may be denied if two staff members have already been granted time off for the same day, there are special events being held at the school, or the staff member did not submit the request in a timely manner. Staff will only be approved once a school year for a planned day off before or after a school holiday.

If a staff member has no PTO available, RBCS reserves the right to deny personal leave.

Employees are encouraged to use holiday time to plan vacations and personal days, as well as plan appointments after work hours to avoid excessive absences. This will allow staff members to retain some PTO for unexpected absences and avoid unpaid time off.

If advanced notice cannot be provided, such as an absence due to illness or emergency, the staff member should notify the Director by text at 512-779-3455 no later than the start of your shift, by 7:30 a.m. if at all possible. In the event of these unplanned absences, PTO will be automatically paid provided the staff member has PTO available. If staff arrive late or leave early without advanced notice, PTO is not granted.

The existing policy to get paid out any unused PTO at the end of the school year remains unchanged. This is our thank you for staff completing their employment agreement through to the end of the school year and having good attendance.

NEW Health Benefits

Staff will be given an option to obtain health benefits through Shiloh Benefits Group, which is a Next Level Prime membership.  This membership includes primary care and urgent care at any Next Level Urgent Care location.  The cost is $75/month for the entire family, of which RBCS will pay $40 per month.  To participate, staff will need to submit the required forms and a payroll deduction form within the deadlines. The objective of this policy is to help staff get affordable care for well health and illnesses.

In addition, vision care through VSP Advantage and dental coverage through Guardian are available, at an additional cost paid fully by the employee.

A representative from Shilah Benefits Group will be on campus on Tuesday, August 19 to share information and forms for enrollment so that we can start benefits in September. More information is available on the links below:
