Our school is funded with a combination of tuition and philanthropic gifts. The tuition we receive from families does not fully cover the operating costs of the school, and it is through your generous gifts that allow us to continue expanding the educational resources and play areas available to our children. Profits from our fundraisers and monetary donations are used to support our mission of providing an exceptional early childhood education program for our children. Thank you for partnering with us.
It’s always a good time to support your child’s school! It’s easy to make a one-time donation or a monthly donation using your bank account or credit card. Click the “Make Your Donation Now” button above to download a form to submit to Alicia in the school office. She will set up the payments to process on the date(s) you indicate. Donation receipts are provided each January for all donations made the previous year.
Riverbend Christian School, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and all donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.
Look forward to these fundraising opportunities:
Book Fair - November 4-8, 2019 - The Scholastic Book Fair is a great way to grow your home library and buy Christmas gifts. Your purchases help us raise funds to continue to grow our school library. Purchasing books through our Scholastic Book Orders also help us get free books and funds for other resource materials. Did you know your family can take advantage of checking out items from our library? Stop by the library on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and our librarian, Ms. Sandra, is happy to help you!
Christmas Celebration - Thursday, December 5, 2019 - This event is fun for the whole family and includes a music program presented by our 3 year, Pre-K and Kinder Bridge students! Activities will start at 4:30, so even if your child is not going to be singing on stage, you won’t want to miss it. Santa will be here for photos, plus there will be horse-drawn carriage rides (weather permitting), carnival games, food trucks and crafts for the kids. In the past this has been our main fundraiser. This year we may hold a raffle that evening, but we plan to focus more on the children for this event. More details to come.
2020 Gala - Tentatively Scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2020 - Our volunteer chairmen are excited to announce their plans for an adult black tie optional evening to support the school! This event will include dinner and auction. There is a Moms & Mimosas meeting on Thursday, October 3 for those who would like to help or get more information about helping. Let us know if you would like to attend. It is being hosted at one of the chairman’s homes.

library helpers Needed
Sandra Polkowski, School Librarian, is always in need of help in the library. Each week the classrooms receive new books, and those items need to be checked out and once they return, be checked back in and re-shelved. Help is also needed to help with Scholastic Book Orders. If you can help or want to find out more, please e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
One of the ways you can stay informed about school happenings and closings, is to sign up for Remind. We will periodically be sending out text messages to let parents know when events are happening at school. You can sign up two ways. On your smartphone, open your web browser and go to the following link: rmd.at/rbcschool and follow the instructions to sign up and download the app. Or you can choose to get text notifications by texting the message @rbcschool to the number 81010.
After School Enrichment - School Year Programs
Our extended day classes are available for ages 3 to 5 years and potty trained. Classes run until 2:30 p.m. Currently, we offer Sportball, Spanish, Sticky Fingers Cooking, Gymnastics and Soccer Shots on campus for after school enrichment. Registration is done directly with the companies. If you enroll your child, their regular classroom teacher will escort them at 1:30 to the enrichment staff, and you can pick your child up at the designated classroom/area at 2:30 p.m.
Our current extended day session will run until Thursday, December 12. Some classes still have space. A new session will begin on January 13, 2020.
As a reminder, we ask you to label everything that your child brings to school. It helps your child keep track of their stuff (and for teachers to help keep track). We’ve made it easy to help support Riverbend while keeping your kid’s stuff out of the Lost & Found! We’re suggesting Mabel’s Labels as the labels you use. Mabel’s labels are personalized, peel & stick, super-durable labels that safely go in the laundry, dishwasher and microwave. They’re perfect for all your kids’ stuff – shoes, clothes, water bottles, lunch containers, lunch boxes, backpacks and more! You can do a child’s name or even add a a fun icon.

We are in need of restocking our clothes closet. Often a child will need an extra change of clothes and sometimes the school will have to lend out clothes. As you are cleaning out your closets at home, please consider setting some aside to donate to our clothes closet. The biggest need is for pants in sizes 3T and 4T. Thanks for your help!
Due to our licensing with the TX Dept. of Family and Protective Services, only children attending classes are permitted to be on our playgrounds during school hours, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. After school hours we welcome our parents to use the playground facilities but ask that you abide by some rules. Please supervise your children on campus at all times; do not let them enter the building themselves or leave them on the playground unattended. If you take food or drinks to any of the playgrounds, please properly dispose of your trash. Please note that the turfed Playland playground is recommended by the manufacturer for use by children 3 and older. The 2nd turfed playground that is fenced off separately is recommended for children 5 years and older. Thank you for your consideration and respect of these wonderful facilities we have available for our families.
Parking at Riverbend
You may have noticed that the Handicapped parking spots located in the main parking area in front of Fellowship Hall have now been marked for 15 minute parking for our preschool parents for drop off and pick up. Please utilize these and other marked parking spots when dropping off and picking up your child. Please do not park in the staff parking lot or in any of the marked fire zones.
Parents often ask us when they are cleaning out old toys if we take donations. Yes, we do! We are happy to take any gently used items for use in our classrooms. We also have a sister school, Little Folks. Any items that we either don't have a use for or have too much of, we forward to Little Folks. Items can be dropped at the school office; donation receipts available.
